Synopsis:

Deep in remote Himalayan Nepal, on the Upper Mustang-Tibetan Plateau, live Doma, a quiet, strong farm girl, and her flamboyant fiancé Karluman, the only son of a local farmer. When modernization encroaches on this once isolated, traditional village, Karluman becomes increasingly restless, feeling trapped as a small time farmer and contemplating a different life in the city. He begs Doma for a precious necklace she had inherited. If he can sell it for a good price, they can start a new life...
