Synopsis:

This documentary follows the story of a rare survivor who falls in love and lives to tell the tale. The young woman who miraculously survived a brutal attack by her father and uncle, was then pressured by the community elders to forgive and forget, in order to bring peace back to the neighborhood. Pakistani law allows for victims of honor crimes to forgive the perpetrators. Most women never survive the attack and virtually no one has ever been sent to jail for the crime of honor killing. The film won the Oscar award for Best Documentary Shorts (2016).
