This is the follow-up forum of the forum entitled "Reclamation: Consideration and Debate?" held on May 22, 2013 by the Institute of Future Cities at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. In the previous forum, we gave the background information about urban planning in Hong Kong and reclamation in particular. It covered the perspective of the Urban Planning Department, the history of urban development in Shatin, the essentials of the planning process, and environmental impact assessment related to reclamation. In this forum, we gave further information about the Ma Liu Shui reclamation proposal, raised issues of urban sustainability caused by reclamation, and explored the opportunities for urban development through reclamation. We aimed to deepen our discussion on the issue of reclamation, and to chart out future course of action in this forum.
