第四次線上文化手工藝工作坊將於202074日(星期六)上午11時至中午十二時於線上舉行。我們的講者曼努拉.卡塔尼亞女士,將介紹意大利文化和教導我們布質項鏈做法。這個資訊和趣味兼備的活動,歡迎大家參與,帶你的朋友和孩子們ㄧ起來吧!

 Multiculturalism in Action Project is happy to announce its recent publication "Intercultural Hong Kong Classroom: Cultural Arts & Crafts". It features 20 handicraft projects from different cultures in Hong Kong. We will be organizing a series of workshops where the artists will share their personal stories and show us how to make the handicraft.

The fourth online cultural and handicraft workshop will be held on 4 July 2020 (Saturday) at 11am-12pm via Zoom. Our speaker, Ms. Manuela Catania, will introduce Italian culture and teach us how to make a fabric necklace. It will be an informative and enjoyable event for all. Everyone is welcome. Bring your friends and children!

豐盛生命:可持續區實驗室

城市環境和我們的日常生活息息相關,更影響我們身心靈的健康和對社區的歸屬感。要建設一個可持續社區,健康舒適的環境十分重要。此項目旨在為關心社區的人士和居民提供一個平台,共同參與和學習營造社區。

 

此項目將舉辦一系列的工作坊,邀請區議員和其他關心社區的人士參與,一同分享可持續社區的相關概念,並一同設計社區營造的方案。工作坊日期主題如下

 

  1. 6/6/2020 () 2-5pm可持續城市和社區的概念,包括聯合國的「可持續發展目標」「新城市議程」以至牛津學人的「冬甩經濟理論」(線上會議)
  2. 15/8/2020 () 2-5pm地方質素、地方感與幸福感的關連
  3. 14/11/2020 () 2-5pm推廣身心靈富足、社會和經濟發展的「三合一」社區營造方案

  Sustainable Communities Lab for People’s Multifaceted Well-being

The built environment shapes our daily life and affects our sense of place and wellbeing. To establish a sustainable city and community, building a healthy settlement, where we can have a great sense of belonging and multifaceted well-being is of quintessential importance. This project aims to create opportunities for community champions and residents to come together to ‘make’ their places at the community level.

In our series of workshops and labs, we help District Councillor and community members to co-learn concepts about sustainable communities, then to co-create solutions to build a sustainable and cohesive community. Workshop/Lab dates and topics include:

  1. 6/6/2020 (Sat) 2-5pm: Concepts on sustainable cities and communities, such as United Nations’s SGDs and New Urban Agenda and Doughnut Economics developed by an Oxford scholar (Online Meeting)
  2. 15/8/2020 (Sat) 2-5pm: Relationships between place qualities, sense of place and sense of well-being:
  3. 14/11/2020 (Sat) 2-5pm: ‘Three-in-one’ research and practices that can attain socio-economic and environmental benefits and promote people’s multifaceted well-being

Multiculturalism in Action Online Handicraft Workshop

MIA Online Handicraft Workshop


Multiculturalism in Action Project is happy to announce its recent publication "Intercultural Hong Kong Classroom: Cultural Arts & Crafts".

 

It features 20 handicraft projects from different cultures in Hong Kong. We will be organizing a series of workshops where the artists will share their personal stories and show us how to make the handicraft.

 

The first online cultural and handicraft workshop will be held on 12 May 2020 (Tuesday) at 3-4pm via Zoom.

 

Our speaker, Ms. Misaki Nagaoka, will introduce Japanese culture and teach us origami.

 

It will be an informative and enjoyable event for all. Everyone is welcome. Bring your friends and children!

 

The workshop is free of charge and conducted in English.

Institute of Future Cities, CUHK has prepared an information pack to help everyone revisit the history of the MOS Iron Mine and its settlements. Through the application of “The Dublin Principles”, we discuss ways to conserve the MOS landscape, comprising its architecture, relics, as well as the cultural heritage of the site, aiming to rekindle the memory of Hong Kongers towards the industrial urbanscapes and to strengthen their awareness of the relationship between industrialisation in Hong Kong and developments in Asia and the world.

工作坊簡介﹕
二次大戰後,馬鞍山鐵礦為香港和外地建設作出貢獻,直至1976年才結束營業。營業期間,附近的馬鞍山村繁榮興旺,亦有宗教團體進駐服務村民。因此除了礦場建築,鐵礦與聚落更承載許多故事,體現了動盪下仍互助奮進的精神。

香港中文大學未來城市研究所誠邀各位參與【馬鞍山鐵礦與聚落保育社區工作坊】——本工作坊以保育馬鞍山鐵礦與聚落為主題,帶領大家認識鐵礦歷史,並邀請大家一起探討如何根據「都柏林原則」,全面地保育及活化馬鞍山鐵礦與聚落的建築、人文歷史和精神,從而喚醒香港人對工業史的回憶和瞭解香港工業化與亞洲及世界發展的關係。

Community Charrette: The Conservation of Ma On Shan Iron Mine and Settlements


Abstract of the charrette:
During the booming period between WWII and its closure in 1976, The Ma On Shan Iron Mine had contributed a lot to the development of Hong Kong and oversea cities. Settlements around the Mine flourished, while religious organisations also moved into the place to serve the community. Besides of historical infrastructures, endless stories about the strong bonding among the community are yet to be told.

The Institute of Future Cities, CUHK, invites you to the
Community Charrette: The Conservation of Ma On Shan Iron Mine and Settlements. In this charrette, we will present you the history of the MOS Iron Mine and settlements. We will also discuss the possibility to conserve the area applying the "Dublin Principle" — not only preserving the architectures, but also the humanistic heritage and the spirit, aiming to rouse the interests of Hong Kong people towards the memory of industrial urbanscapes, and the relationship between industrialization in Hong Kong and developments in Asia and the world.

The Mobile City Lab at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a platform jointly organised by the Urban Studies Programme, Department of Geography and Resource Management, School of Architecture, Master of Urban Design and the Institute of Future Cities. The Mobile City Lab takes the city as a laboratory to co-create multifaceted understanding and knowledge among students, academia, professionals and the lay public on various urban related issues, with a view to moving the city towards sustainable development. A series of events including exhibition, seminars, workshops and tours are organised to launch the Mobile City Lab.
